b. 1978 Greenville, SC
Greg Hart has been living in Charleston, SC for 15 years. A native to the state, he graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2001 with a degree in Media Arts - he focused on Film and Television and interned at 20th Century Feature Casting in Los Angeles. Hart worked at CNN for a year, leaving after 9/11 to pursue illustration, with postgraduate stints at the Atlanta College of Art and the Illustration Academy. He then freelanced with illustrations appearing in The Washington Post, Utne Reader, and USA Today. In 2009, Greg travelled to Paris and returned hell-bent on painting, abandoning commercial art for more personal work. He found a voice in photography-based portraiture. His fine art work has been featured in Charleston Magazine, The Jealous Curator, Art Hound, Azalea, Art Mag, Studio Visit, and Four Charlotte. He has exhibited work with The George Gallery, Gris Galerie, Eyedrum, The Southern, Redux, and City Gallery.
Greg’s current body of work started in January of 2018 and is centered on visual artists in Charleston.
